The Mu Lambda Cast has made philanthropy a top priority in recent years. Our goal is to provide and cater to the community, as well as empower artists to create, empathize, and advocate for what they believe. As we are a performing arts organization, we focus much of our efforts towards raising money for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS-a nonprofit organization that responds to the AIDS crisis by raising funds throughout the United States. We also grant scholarships to a number of applicants from the WKU Department of Theatre & Dance at the end of every school year. We also give back by sponsoring events for our Department as a whole. In the past year, we helped sponsor Plays in a Day-celebrating students' spontaneous creativity in a festival that produces new plays in the span of 24 hours-as well as the biennial New Works Festival-a showcase of completely student-produced pieces. Our organization also acts as ambassadors at the Department of Theatre & Dance scholarship audition day. As our cast grows, we also intend to grow in the ways we practice philanthropy.
